Ensign Expendable

I'm going to need a team of Templars ready to mobilise, street level maps of all of Denerim, a pot of coffee, twelve Jammie Dodgers and a fez

About Ensign Expendable

ex·pend·a·ble/ikˈspendəbəl/Adjective

1. (of an object) Designed to be used only once and then abandoned or destroyed.
2. Of little significance when compared to an overall purpose, and therefore able to be abandoned.

Mark O'Shea (Ensign Expendable) is a RPG enthusiast, father and general geek (not in that order) living in Perth, Western Australia.  He is no authority on any of the topics that are covered on this blog and any advice should be taken in the way that it is intended, to increase fun in your games.  If it doesn't increase your fun then you should probably ignore it.

The name Ensign Expendable came from what Mark and his friends used to call the red shirted guys (exclusively guys if I recall) who went on away missions with Captain Kirk and who didn't come back.  The phrase tickled Mark and now that is who he is.  He's a DM/GM/Referee/Storyteller, he's not the hero and it's his job to play all the red shirts and bad guys who the real heros (the players) dispatch with little thought.  He likes it that way.

Mark has been known to read and have an opinion on many, many games that he's been lucky enough to get his hands on but he generally comes back to D&D again and again and is currently running a D&D 4E game over skype and a Mongoose Traveller game on an actual table.

He can be reached at via email at mark@ensignexpendable.com and on twitter as @EnsignExpendabl (those darn arbitrary username lengths, this isn't a typo).
